4 Door Trucks

All the major truck manufacturers offer 4 door trucks. One of the best features is how affordable these trucks are.

If you want to do some off-road exploring, the various styles that are offered on the 4 door trucks have ample room for any equipment necessary for hunting, climbing or nearly any other activity.

Some people have been disappointed because they feel there are not very many compact pickups available these days. The majority of the new designs are bigger. They are midsized trucks or edging toward full size.

In fact, the customary regular cab is almost extinct. Many of the brands do not offer any trucks in the compact class. The brands that do offer the regular cabs find that this type of truck only accounts for just ¼ of their sales. This shows that the crew-cab and extended-cab body styles are more desirable to consumers than the regular cabs are.

How Are 4 Door Trucks Useful?

All the extended cabs can be purchased with rear-hinged and narrow back doors. These half-doors may seem fine while in the showroom but they are usually awkward in the tighter spaces. This is because they will only open approximately 90 degrees. The extended cabs front doors must be opened prior to the rear doors, which is not always convenient. For instance, if you are unloading your shopping cart and there is a car parked beside you, when you open the doors you will be boxed in. This is one of the reasons that the 4 door trucks came along and have become an increasingly popular truck choice.

Seating

Almost all the extended cabs claim the ability to seat as many as five people, however, not all of these trucks achieve the additional size exactly the same. Nearly all of the trucks accomplish this with a bench seat in the front with the ability to seat three passengers and two ‘jump’ seats in the rear that hold one passenger each. These seats can also be folded away for those times when you want to carry cargo.
The middle spot on the front bench only has enough room for a child, who is supposed to ride in the back. These trucks should actually be considered four-passenger trucks. The same is to be said for the crew cabs claiming to hold six-passengers, they really only hold five.

Luxury

Some may think that truck and luxury should not be said in the same sentence. However, the compact pickups today offer some rather ritzy features. They offer heated front seats with leather upholstery, a sunroof and state of the art sound systems are very common options nowadays. These added features do make it rather easy to raise the trucks price dramatically. Keep in mind that you can sometimes purchase the few items you really want separately. Otherwise, you may pay quite a bit more for a bundle of things that you really do not want or need.

If you are in the market for a new vehicle, you may want to consider looking at the 4 door trucks. There are definitely more pros than cons when it comes to these vehicles. Just remember to consider the number of passengers you need to transport and purchase accordingly.
